Has anybody hear used the any of the 4 brands of clutches rockauto provides for their sho? So far it looks like Rhinopac, Brute Power, Sachs, and AC Delco are all provided for cheaper than some of the local parts supply houses. Just wanted to see if anybody has had any good luck / problems with them.

Thanks

:thankyou:

I have a Rhinopac, and no problems whatsoever. All of the components were stamped Valeo which is the original manufacturer for all this equipment.
I got a ceramic Throw Out Bearing (TOB) from Shonut in an attempt to make the TOB last longer, but I don't know if it has helped yet.
Get the kit with the "Quill" which is a sleeve that fits over the input shaft of the tranny (which is aluminum and can wear)
Get the one that is on sale, I am pretty sure they will all be OK.

Thanks guys for the heads up. I appreciate the feedback. Do have another question since it was brought up. The sleeve repair kit... how is it installed? Does it just slide over the input shaft of the trans or would it need to be taken to a machine shop and fitted to the trans?

It doesn't really slide per se, it needs to be driven on (or at least mine did). Your trans may already have one on it, in which case, you're better off leaving it alone.

Besides driving it on you will want to use some high temp sleeve retainer on it. Only place I could find it was napa. Use a piece of PVC to drive it on with.
