AZ SHOfolks,

I'll be heading out to Cave Creek, AZ from the end of December through early January. While I’m there I’d like to replace the stock clutch on our cherry 91 with 71k. Tom suggested that I post on the forum to find some able/willing bodies to complete this task. He has also given me permission to use one of the bays at Dooleyville (just as long as he's around when it's getting used). I would provide all of the parts/(beer) for the job as well as compensate both the mechanic and AZsho club for their efforts.

Let me know if anyone will be available Dec22-Jan5. With a fresh upper and lower 60k completed as well as brand new a/c system, I’d love to get this clutch job done so that she can continue to run strong for another 15yrs.

Regards,

Dan

Thanks for the quick response.

I guess the date/time would really depend on Tom's availability. Anytime from Dec 22-Jan5 would work for me, but the week/weekend after Xmas might work better for some people.

Tom, could you let me know what your availability is in late December/early January?

Also, is there any chance we could schedule this during an AZshoclub get together? I'd love to meet the whole gang and see some clean rust free SHO's:dribble:

Haha Mike, good one. Unforutnately I'll be gone from Dec. 22 (that night) until Jan. 1. Then I won't be available till the next weekend. I'm sorry I can't help, I wouldn't have minded. Good luck with it though!

Since all I have in an ATX and don't know much about clutches. All that I can offer is some support and muscle. If you need it, plus I can learn alot by helping or just watching. Weekend after X-mas looks good.

Dan,

I might have the 30th open for a get together of the AZ SHO Club and your clutch job. I've got relatives coming into town and they haven't firmed up when they're leaving. I'll let eveyone know in a new post in our forum.

We can change your other strut, too.

That's it I'm coming and I'll grab a hammer and bash on the clutch too.

I think that's all you need for a clutch change is a hammer, right?

Yes Rav, all you need for a clutch is a hammer. But if that doesn't work, well then you just need a bigger one. :nut:

But you are correct, basically you just bash on the clutch until it changes.

Hammer is the advanced class. First we have to retest you on the crescent wrench...

If I don't have to go in to work the day you decide to do it I will help out, it will be a good learning experience.

My preferred method is to hit somebody with the hammer until they change it for me... you get alot less uncomfortable vibration through the handle that way.
