I was driving home today and all of a sudden I heard a clunking sound coming from the front right of the car. First I thought I may have blown an arm or something but it drove fine, so I just passed it off as running something over. As I was getting on an onramp, and getting on the throttle good, the clunking comes back and is really loud. When I get to a light the clunking is less but still there. It stops as I get on the highway and didn't do anything on the rest of the way home. When I opened the hood it looked like a piece of the serpentine belt was gone. Is this ok to drive with or is the rest of the belt on it's way out also and therefore time for the 60k on my 95 ATX? Thanks for your help guys.

My car is the same year as yours. I would really be concerned driving around with an unhealthy serpentine belt. To replace the serpentine belt is easy. Simply use a 14mm socket on the drive belt tensioner bolt by rotating clockwise to release the belt tension.

I purchased my belt from Rockauto.com for $20.68. I believe that that is where most SHO owner's in this forum get their belts too. As for the 60K...if it has not been done yet...perform the 60K at the earliest possible time.

SHO91MTX and I took care of it tonight. 25.99 at Autozone for a Goodyear belt. He checked the idler pulleys too and said they were ok. Thanks for the help.
