Pretty much all the components of the front end have been replaced within the past 3 months…strut assemblies, control arms, tie rod ends, sway bar links, cv axles. I’m still getting a clunking noise when driving over bumps or rough roads. Any thoughts on where to look next?

I had a bad clunk from the pass side, turns out my motor mount bracket had snapped in half somehow. Replaced the mount and no more clunk. Worth a check it’s just 7 bolts with a jack and a piece of wood under the pan.

Do you happen to know a part number or which mount specifically?

It was the pass side next to the strut tower. Part was AA5Z6038D. I paid $130 but it’s since gone on sale for $85 ish on ford parts giant.

aftermarket parts, especially the cheaper ones, can cause problems even when new.

that said, checking all suspension and mount bushings is a great place to start.

observe how much the engine moves when revved in park. old school way of determining mount failure. typically should not have more than 0.25 inch deflection. if you see rub marks on the underhood pad, that is another indication.

Are you positive its coming from the front? I had a phantom clank for over a year and it took people shaking the car with me under it and weight on the suspension to find it. Rear swaybar bushing, keep in mind a lot will echo and it can be hard to pinpoint where exactly its coming from, but dont forget to give the back a good once over too.
