Im so tired i was up all night changing the heater core in the 237K 89. but anyway i wanted to post my problem before i go into hibernation for the next year, or possibly the next century. lol. Its all back together. But, the climate control is not operating properly. No matter what setting I go to on the climate control (ie panel heat, floor, both, etc) its always blows out of the defrost vents. The fan works fine. What is going on, I hop i dont have to dig in htere again?
remember this is an 89 with the manual 3 wheel climate control.

thanks

You didnt plug in the vac lines to the EATC or you damaged, disconnect the vac line that comes through the firewall by the heater core that supplys vac to the interior. Ther is about 3 places it plugs in 2 down by the heater box, and one behind the EATC. I dont think there are any others.

No EATC in this one, however, the same single vacuum line that services the manual control head goes through the firewall via one of the heater core hard line holes.

Hopefully, you didn't skip reinstalling this line or, possibly, damage it.

If the vacuum line is intact, then the most likely problem is the vacuum motor that switches airflow from the dash tot he other outlets.

I did hook it up on the firewall side, though my memory is kinda shady on where it goes inside the dash? Is there any way I can tell if it has an air leak somewhere?

Another thing, I havent been able to start the car yet, still waiting for the battery to charge up. Would it need to build vacuum pressure initially in order to work?

haha. Well its working great now that I have it running. I guess its time to start tearing into the other 89. :madflame:

One thing is, I must have lost a few bulbs in the speedo cluster while I was putting it back in. I have always been annoyed at how poor the illumination has been on 89 clusters, are there any higher wattage / brighter / better bulbs I can put in there?
