click and grinding noise in front right by tire...please help

when I put my car in reverse i hear i loud click noise as it shifts into reverse and then as I proceed in reverse I hear a grinding noise in the front right side of the car near the tire. I have no idea what it is. So i was hoping u all can help me diagnose what it is and how to fix it...it only happens when i am in reverse, usually turning in reverse. it is a very loud grinding noise...any response would be of great help...thank u....

I'm assumimg you have an automatic.....Check TSB 9659 dated 96-02-26 shoot thumbs_u shoot

I had that same clicking noise coming from the front area of the car. It didn't really grind though... Turned out it was a broken sway-bar link. I thought my tires were rubbing! Don't know if this helps, but I thought I'd add my .02 as to what it might be.

First and foremost,,,check out your level of tranny fluid....no matter what you do after that you are not in danger of loosing reverse and first...then proceed:
check out the axle-seal on the half-shaft,,,you better get under there and see...if it's clicking, grinding, the moaning already went away..hub bearing failed, axle is turning dry to dry...
If I'm wrong, and I hope I am.......it probably is just a SFB.
