I was thinking about doing some more painting to my wheels/bumpercovers/sideskirts. possibly my trunklid. I already know the paint Im using matches the rest of the car pretty decent, but without clearcoat it dosent last too well, its hard to wash, and it chips very easily.

I would just try it, but I really dont want to get stuck with yellowish drips all over the place, and then it would have to be stripped. And I do not want to get stuck doing that for 3 hours.

Any suggestions??

don't clear the wheels...... The heat from the brakes turns it yellow really quick. the rest would be ok as long as you're careful. If you do happen to get a run, wet sand with 600 grit wet sandpaper. When it's somewhat close, hit it with 1000 grit wet sandpaper, then 1800 grit and you could end with a 2400 or stop at 1800. Shouldn't take too long but get as much as possible with the 600. If you sand through the clear in some areas, re-clear and be more careful.

just take your time and put a few even light coats. It runs easily so be light with the coats. If it starts looking dry(or it is not fully covering and looks rough) hit it a little heavier but not too much. Try practicing on something that is not going to be on your car. Or is not visible on the car(inside of the trunk, maybe under the carpet).
