In the last 2 days I have spent a good 6-7 hours cleaning the console on the Plus.

409, toothbrush, dish brush, rags, and some leather conditioner. $10 and I should be able to do all my interior. I HATE Mocha interior as of now. Apart is aside from the soda spills no one but me will ever tell I cleaned it.

What should I put on the plastics after i clean them? Ive been using the spray condition/cleaner I have but should I use something else? I refuse to use AmorAll after the dash in the Cougar.

Anyone use 409 on their carpets? Took the stains out I tried it on came out easier and faster than any carpet cleaner I ever used. Have heard that it will hold new dirt if it is not washed/removed from the carpet after cleaning.

Used the leather cleaning thread for the seats but I have only done the outside bottom pass seat but it worked good, even though I went though the finish on one spot.

I need to do the same on my carpets so I will try the 409 like you did thanks for the info. What happened when you used Armor All? I use it and have had no problems.

I'm a fan of Maguiar's products. The interior wipes have done well for my SHO

I think I am going to try and use a vaccum stlye cleaner to remove the left over 409.

I didnt keep up on it after a few years and it started to spider crack....

That is what I am using now. I like it so far. Used it on my GF Durango, my 92, and the Plus and it seems to work well.

You know what they say, once you go black...

I want to keep it all original in a sense. That is the reason I havent swapped to full leather.

Got it all back the car today and the rear top section that "holds" the drinks and has the tape holder is a different color than the rest. I cleaned everything the same yet it came out lighter than the rest. Maybe it will change back after it sits for a while.

Interior and paint are almost done. Just touch up stuff now. I have to take the rims off and try to clean them up. Here are some pics of today.

The first thing I do is use a little bit of dish soap (just a tiny bit) in a mixing bowl full of warm water and get the dust and grime off of every surface on the inside of the car, sans the carpet. I even clean the carpet on the doors! Windows, seats, head rests, seat belts (just the exposed parts), dash, trim, mouldings, et cetera.

After that I use Mink Oil on the leather and vinyl seats, and on the vinyl sections of the doors and dash. It's a wipe on, wipe off product. Its the only thing that goes on my seats besides butts.

Every other surface just gets water and soap. Works great on windows.

I just started using armor all spray on a clean paper towel and applied it to the trim surrounding the outside of the windows, as well as the black part of my mirrors. I figure they can withstand 20 years of wind, rain, sun, snow and hail so they should be able to survive a few applications of armor all ;).

If you want something that works pretty well on carpet, get the red can of Resolve for high traffic. It's a foam and it works real well. Don't get the one for pet stains as that crap seems to cause discoloration. I've used the high traffic and I like it.

That cleaned up nice! I'm glad I have black interior too :) I just wish my dash wasn't cracked.

+1, got to clean her up for the show

Wait til we get there. All day im going to be picking my car apart. OCD. I plan on taking a nap before I head to Daves. That will be all the sleep I need.

I might go over the interior again. I have to touch up the wax build up for sure.

Brake dust +AZ sun = SOB
