I removed my intake for the first time since I bought the car in March and was surprised at what I found. The intake itself was pretty clean but where my fuel injectors are on the front side of the engine but in the back side the intake ports were filthy. I looked inside with a flashlight and couldn't believe the gunky build up, even on the valves. How would I go about cleaning this without taking the valve cover off??

I saw the posts for the 97 SHO. Would the process be the same?

cleaning that valves will be a pain in the ass. i had buildup on mine and unless you want to take all the valves out i would leave it. run some cleaner through it when it is all back togehter. i also was reading posts about people using ATF in there oil or gasoline to help keep there top end clean. also for the intake itself people were using stove cleaner and said ti worked awesome, i just used engine bright and i had no problem. good luck
