Check the sticker on this tranny, anyone else done this?

Perhaps this is Ford's best fix on these trannies, the service was within the past 5 years, and has a Ford quality cert. sticker on it too. Anyone else done this?

I think it's a good indication that not all AX4S internals are the same.

Hi Guys
This AX4S is a pain in the ***. Contrary to popular belief, they must be about 5 different models, although all considered a AX4S, internalls are different.
My current rebiulder uses my cores to O/H, like we did in the Dealer.
Try wasting a days work fitting a 96 Wnstar trans from a scrap yard, to a 98
Basically all trannys get updated along the years, this being a weak link, it got mods almost every year. Flashing the PCM takes care of specs and presures, but what happens if the trans and motor electronics don't match. another can of worms.
IMHO...rebiuld yours, use many of the "upgrades" out there, and you should be good to go. Don't get me wrong...it CAN be done, but this type of PCM revercing is not that easy, to make it work like a beefed stock one can.

It's very common to use parts from different model trannys when rebuilding them. Some are factory-issued upgrades, and other's are just the result of a lot of experience and experimenting. You wouldn't believe where some of the parts cone from that our tranny guy puts in SHO auto trannys!
