Over the weekend I changed out the crumpled r/pass door. Boy was this a project. The door that came with the car for replacement didn't have a door lock motor and the wireing was poor. The project was replacing the motor and the wireing well got that done. Now for the problem the door won't shut dosen't even come close. Since the other door didn't come with hinges I'm useing the same ones. Since the door is bent up I think the hinges are too and am going to pick some up at the jk/yd. Am I on the right path of thinking for this?

your hinges are screwed

your door posts are possibly screwed too (both on the hinge and latch side)

Thanks just now I can hope and pray that its just the hinges and maybe the hinge side of the post. That may be easier to fx than the latch side.

I think I did. I put the hinges on the door then useing a floor jack lined up the pins then droped it place. Door wouldn't close by 6". I then loosened the hinges closed it and got it to about 4".

It took Tom and I a great deal of time to get mine to close on my '92 after we swapped a door. To this day (with the new owner), it still doesn't close as smoothly as it should. It does close, so I ran with it.

Dean,

If it's binding up during its swing, like HotRodKid said, I would think that either the "B" post is bent so that the pins are not on the same axis (straight line), or the door panel where the hinges bolt is tweaked.

I guess it's binding. The bottom hinge roller is coming out of the roller holder area when closeing. I also found that the single bolt on the frame side of the hinge was stripped. I think this is my main prob.
