I need to replace my CELO (cold engine lock out) switch, but the original part is discontinued from Ford. Does anyone have an updated part number?
The original # is E80H-18D417-AA.

This is the sensor located on the metal section of the coolant line that runs from the coolant neck housing to the heater core.

Thanks

A couple of things come to mind:

1. You might also try Part # F1OY-18D376-A which is taken from the following TSB:

Article No. 94-2-13

FORD: 1993-94 TAURUS
LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1993-94 CONTINENTAL, SABLE

ISSUE:
The heater blower motor may be inoperative in the "automatic" mode on vehicles built from 8/2/93 through 9/24/93. This may be due to a faulty Cold Engine Lockout Switch.

ACTION:
Refer to the appropriate Service Manual, Section 12-03A, for diagnostic procedures. If a faulty Cold Engine Lockout Switch is verified, replace the switch and hose assembly with an improved assembly (F1OY-18D376-A).

NOTE: REPLACE THE SWITCH AND HOSE ASSEMBLY. REPLACEMENT OF JUST THE SWITCH WILL RESULT IN SWITCH FAILURE.

PART NUMBER / PART NAME
F1OY-18D376-A / Cold Engine Lockout Switch And Hose Assembly

2. Maybe a CELO from another EATC-equipped Ford will work. Continentals, Crown Vics, the Grand Marquis etc. all used a similar EATC system as the Taurus.

3. Junkyard.
