CEL after 'y'pipe install

hey guys,u'r thoughts on one of the problems i'm having right now. replaced both 02 sensors under warrenty @57k for CEL only after WOT.Just installed coated SS'y'pipe @73K,Pick yp car & after warmup CEL comes on,then off,then on,=1 min on,10-15 min off.check conn=ok,next day same but less frequent,next day same even less frequent.take to shop,pull codes=run rich & run lean.clear codes.2 weeks later every 2-3 days on warm afternoons still have CEL but only after 1hour run from work,stays on for 1min or some times 3-4 min.checked codes again,only run rich&run lean! does system(computer) learn & ajust,do i need a lpm programed for 'y'pipe?

Are you only getting rich/lean codes anything on the EGR not opening? PFE? Sense you just replaced the Y-pipe, maybe one of the O2s are not reconnected?

After reading your post a couple times I am inclinded when the installed the pipe (it sounds like you had a shop do it), they 1. forgot to reconect the rear (or both) O2 sensors. 2. Broke the wiring/O2 sensor. Did you have new cats put on?

You do not need an lpm for y-pipe, at least I didn't for mine.

'check conn=ok'- first thing i checked was the conn for the 02's. first thing i asked about when i returned with car,he commented that they looked brand new!said no concern removing from old, or installing in new pipe or stress installing pipe!i guess as with any electrical part 1 or both could have gone bad! i should be able to unplug 1 at a time & drive & see if occurance gets worse,that should tell me if any are bad right?

eric, also SS'y'pipe came with new hi-flow cats& flex with ****** all welded together. shop told me i have now changed from original flow characteristics & they would expect this untill program was revised.
-on your ATX with 'y'pipe did u notice much of a diff in sound & performance right after install?
and did u notice slight improvement in both after 'break-in' of pipe? i did!!

Bill the computer adjusts programming to what it has installed. If the shop did not reset the computer after install that could very well be the problem. Erasing the codes will not set the computer back to defaults.
