cd player powering off?

happened while pulling into the driveway today. Sound turned off then shortly after the cd player shut itself off. Now when I start the car the cd player will start up, but then shut down again about 30 seconds later.

eh still the same for the most part. went to a couple shops today to see how much it would cost for them to pull codes from my car. 92.50 from ford and another shop was free but then the diagnostic is like 83. and i dont think they will just pull the codes for me and not do the diagnostic.

My father in law has a ford code reader lemme talk to him ok and see if i can borrow it or we can take your car to him.Well maybe u should let someone look it over i dunno.

Take the y pipe off completely and idle the car for a min and rev it by hand see if its smoother>?

Stock cd player? Year? Including as much information as you can will speed up the process and garner many more offers of wisdom from the SHO gurus out there.

My best guess, based on a stock system still installed would be to clean the buttons on your slave cd player. Do a search and see what comes up....

aftermarket kenwood cd player and speakers. the cd player decided to stay on last night after about 15 min of driving but still no sound.
