I am trying to fix my factory cd player in my 91 , it was working great then one day decided to just stop reading cd's. You stick one in the radio says cd, and the cd player says 0 for a few seconds then spits it out.Yes tried cleaning it. So in my previous search here I found this, but I can't find those micro switches and I searched and searched.Anyone know where they are located, I even tried tracing down the brown ribbon cable.Did the earlier factory cd player have these switches?

CD FIX

There are 2 little black micro switches under the top cover on the circuit board. They are mounted on their own little board and have a brown colored ribbon cable going from them to the main board. These switches will get "gummy" and not make contact to let it know if the c/d is in or out. If you take the 2 screws out of the board they are mounted to and lift it up you can spray the switches where the plunger comes out of the switch (so the cleaner gets inside of the switch) with electricial contact cleaner and re-install. Be carefull putting the board back down because 1 of the switches you will have to get a tiny screwdriver and push the "plunger" in to clear a
lever that works the switch, if you just try to push it down it will break the switch. I have fixed 2 supposedly broken ones this way i bought off E-Bay.

I found this but there is more then 1 brown cable that goes to the main board that I found.

1 - Take out cd-player from board w/ 4 steal 3mm nails (for example) putted to 4 holes and push it out.
2 - Take 3 screws out from top cover of player.
3 - Take 2 screws out from green SONY board connected to mail board w/ brown cable.
4 - Clean up 2 optic sensors and 2 switches (switches cleaning: put drop of spirit or electrical contact cleaner to plunger and move plunger in/out so the cleaner fluid gets inside of the switch)
5 - When putting green board back down, push plungers inside switches to prevent broken by the mechanic levers!!!!
6 - Enjoy! :)
