I'm just going saturday, so I'm not going to be in the show or any of that, I'm going to look for parts for my car. I'm just paying when I get there. I have no clue on the show car area & all that sorry... :oogle:

What are you going to be selling? How does one go about selling stuff at Carlisle? I have a bunch of extra stuff I want to get rid of... Just spare junk but I don't want to sit around the swap meet all day. :thumb:

Well, that's what it's all about. :nut:

Seriously, this is an all-weekend event if you are a vendor. You set up on Friday, BS with your neighbors, and have them watch your stuff periodically while you walk around and tour the show and flea market. You tell your buddies how much you would like to get for an item, and how low you are willing to go, and you let them negotiate for you. It takes some getting used to, but everyone looks out for one another and nobody steals stuff. It's quite the counterculture in its own special way.

... except at the import show. :frown: Then it's a bunch of teeny-bopper thug-wannabes stealing rice from one another and starting fights over ugly girls who can't afford clothing. From what I understand, Carlisle canceled the import/sport compact show last year and they have no intentions of ever bringing it back. :salute:

OK Folks, I'm about to drop $150 for the tent and I'm being told there are only 4 SHOs registered?? This is not making me feel very warm and fuzzy since I am one of the four!!

Could we possibly get a SHO count so that I know the tent is going to be covered?

Last year we had 24 registered and there were some folks who put in extra for the tent so I wasn't stuck with the whole shortage. If we have 25, then it is free.

For those that are just coming up for Saturday, I believe the admission is ~$10 per person. You will likely pay someone ~$10 to park in their yard. If you're coming up with a friend or S.O. you might as well buck up the $35 and have preferred parking among your SHO brethern!

See everyone in a few weeks!

I am only coming for Saturday, but did sign up for the reserved spot. So I must be #2 of the 4. As Terri explained, paying the $35 is definitely the way to go. If you don't register, you won't be able to park on the show grounds with the SHOs and will have to walk a considerable distance from your on-street/back-yard parking.

Last year's gathering was a fine SHOwing by our group of SHowners. Everyone should sign up for this meet.

I signed up also, coming Saturday and Sunday. 35 is for the whole weekend is better than parking in the town and then walking to the show grounds. Also, guys, when you register, please remember to put Liberty SHO Club in the reg. form so it counts for the tent.
Hope it doesn't rain this year...

I'll be there. All the way from Alabama. My uncle has spots E9-12. Hope to see some of you guys there, even though I have no idea who I'm looking for. My Gen 3 GL will be there. Nothing too big, but just something to look for if you're browsing.

About the parking thing...

Street parking means walking several blocks or so IF you get in early and can find a spot. Back-yard parking is slightly more convenient--usually a 5-10 block walk, but it will cost you $10 or so in addition to the entrance fee.

Try walking 10 blocks with a big heavy bag of car parts after walking several miles all day. It's not fun.

Also, if you plan on eating somewhere other than the places on the fairgrounds, it's nice to be able to hop in your car, drive around town, and drive right back to your spot on the showfield. :thumb:

I'm probably going to register for a spot w/ the club, even though I've already got 2 vendor spots and a camping spot. My car isn't much of a show vehicle, but what the hey... it's a SHO and I need to represent.

Terri H., how many SHOs did you get registered? I have 2 cars to bring and I'm only 1 driver so no SHO this year unless I make a new friend mighty fast. Doesn't seem likely. But I'll contribute to SHO tent rental since I'm a SHO club member.

Well, I don't think I'll be showing the SHO. It'll be there, but there's no way I'm paying $45 to put it on the Show Field. I think it's absurd that they want that much money from the people who MAKE the damn show worth attending. My car will be in my camping spot or one of the vendor spots.

Sorry I couldn't help out w/ the club's showing. :( I'm writing a letter to Carlisle Productions about their insane prices. Actually before I go off on them, I want to see if they can give me any discounted price for the Show Field since I already have the camping & vendor spaces.

Well it looks like my car should be ready to take up, but I don't think I am going to put it in the show or anything. I am only going to be there for sat. So I am just going to park outside the SHO. I hope to see more SHO's in the show then I saw last yeah tho. There were only like 10 at the most in the show.

I wasn't even planning on bringing the SHO. Kinda hard to pre-register when you don't know what car you'll be in. Besides, I thought Carlisle Productions might cut me some slack since they already have over $100 from me for this show.
