i own a 93 taurus sho mtx. the other day i was going to put an aftermarket fan(slim cooling fan) on it. i used the stock cooling fan harness. i put the power wire to the slim fan(blue wire) to the brown wire with orange stripe. and the ground wire(black) to the black wire on the harness. i started the car to let it warm up to see if the slim fan would kick on. after letting the car warm up for a while the fan never came on so i turned the car off, right before i turned the car off i seen a little smoke roll out from top the radiator(not sure where it came from exactly and i didnt smell anything burning.) so took the fan out and touched it to the battery to make sure it still worked.it still worked so i jus said the **** with it an put the stock fan back on. i hooked the wires up taped them an went to start my car but will not start now an my fan come on an stay on when the key is turned on. im not hearing the fuel pump kick on and my fans are acting funny so thought maybe it was the ccrm, an i didn blow any fuses. any suggestion would be great thanks.

Why did you want to replace the stock cooling fan with a aftermarket one? You do realize the SHO fan is a very common and desirable upgrade in many car scenes, right? The stock fan really does the trick in these cars.
