Car wont start!!! HELP

I just changed my altenator and got the battery tested and charged. I had to jump the car, drove around for an hour right. Then when I got home and turned off the car, I tried to start it up again and i lose all power when i turn the key dome lights and all. Then if I wait about 1 minute the dome lights come back on and alarm is working, but as soon as I turn the key I lose all power again. The only way to restart is to jump it.

Please HELP!!!

One of four things:

1. Alternator isnt functioning correctly
2. Battery isnt recieving a charge from the alternator (bad connection maybe)
3. Battery will not hold a charge
4. You have a HUGE electrical draw when the ignition is OFF

If you just replaced alternator like you said, and the battery passed a load test, then my money is on #2

5. Get a battery terminal brush, clean the terminals and connectors, reconnect, and tighten properly.

I agree with #5. See my thread in this section. Same problem, this fixed it.

Yeah, but can I supersize that #2, but get onion rings instead of fries?

I agree with #5. See my thread in this section. Same problem, this fixed it.

I did all of this and still the same thing happened, Then I put my battery in my friends 89 mustang and his car fired right up. I put it back in my car and nothing happened. The funny thing is I am still able to jump the car.
