Car = 94 ATX 3.2
Hey guys, did a search and hate to add another thread to this symptom but I am having problems. As I said I did some searching and tried a few things that sounded like a similar situation.
First things first, 3-4 months ago, the car drove fine. Went to and from work with no problem. Started driving another car and it sat for 2 months before I needed to drive the SHO again, battery was dead, tried jumping and the car would not start for anything.
Finally have some time and help to work on it now so first thing I checked was all cables/grounds ect still in place, checked fuel pump emergency switch in trunk, friend tested to see if I had spark, no spark. Replaced the coil pack, nadda, replaced DIS, nadda.
Gave up for the night, but part store says next step would be crank sensor replacement and it is actually on order but from the reading I have done earlier today I have a feeling this is going to be a waste of another 75 bucks and a few hours of my time.
None of the threads I read ever had an absolute solution to this phantom starting issue, saw one guy ran his own wire from the coil pack to the fuse box and he was able to start the engine again.
So yeah I am basically hoping someone will know the solution before I go purchase this crank sensor tomorrow, maybe it is known now, I just didnt read the right thread. Who knows. I read 20-ish out of 2-300 found.
Any help would be great.
Are you absolutely certain that the DIS is grounded? You didn't remove any brackets on the intake manifold crossover tube, did you?
Bleh, ok, so finally got my CCRM in today and went to change it.
Took off old one and half the cable/ccrm was toast. Cleaned the
connector up best we could. Wires seem to be getting power good.
But still no fuel pump/spark.
Suppose as bad as the connector is there is a possibility the prongs
are not actually going in. But still if it fried the ccrm that bad just curious
if there is a chance anything else went bad I could look at.
