car surging

well now when i went to go to get lunch my car surges really bad almost gives me whiplash it only does this when pulling like gear 1 2 3 havent had it higher afraid to **** myself rpm doesnt seem to climb its like im a bad manual driver you know the first gear lurching thing we all did in our early manual days but it does this in 1 2 3 do i need to have this thing completely overhauled??? oh its a 89 3.ol manual

I agree. Mine had the same symptoms and I changed the cps and the cid and now it runs like a champ again.
