Back in Michigan ... again.
I'm not doing good with SHO's these days...first my 89 chunks 3rd gear, then I tear the **** out of Denny's lug wrench trying to get a lug nut off, now the first day driving my friend's 92 it decides to leave me stranded at Burger King
Here's the deal:

Turn the key, everything lights up on the dash like normal...fuel pump cycles, everything is as it should be except it doesn't turn over. The starter doesn't click either, so I believe the problem is either the ignition interrupt sensor on the clutch or on the brake pedal. Can someone tell me where these are located and how to replace or bypass them altogether?

Good thing it's an MTX...a few friendly BK employees gave me a bump start, and now I'm at the college preparing for my final exam in 1 hour...hopefully I parked on enough of a hill to get the car bump started again eek!

My years of SHO ownership are DEFINITELY coming to an end.... frown

Or, check the starter relay wire that resides on the top of the starter. Just thought that I would mention that because it could cause the same symptoms. I forgot to put it back on when I put the starter back in. It is at he very top of the atarter and kind of hard to see, but just make sure that it is seated correctly.

3rd gear is GONE....no grinding, no nothing. There's a fair amount of clanking in the transmission...all the other gears work fine, and actually shifting to 3rd it still notches in, it notches in very smoothly but it does notch in. But when I let out the clutch the engine just revs (with more clanking noise).

As for the no-start on the 92, here's an update. After successfully bump starting the car at the college (yes I did try to start it before bump starting it) I get home, park it & toss the keys to my friend (it's his car) & tell him to start it up. So, he climbs in, turns the key and the damn thing fires right up. Turns it off, does it again, fires right up. The top of my head actually blew off in frustration, seriously I have to wear a hat now to keep my brain from getting sunburned :p . So who knows...I'm going to check that interlock switch anyway, thanks for posting the link! I used to visit SHOtimes regularly, now I'm on SHOforum so much I've forgotton all about SHOtimes...gotta re-bookmark that site!
