Car is STUCK, please help asap!

I have a '94 ATX. This happened about a month ago. Went somewhere and parked, when I came back out, I couldn't get the shifter out of park. It was blowing the fuse that goes to the brakes. Had it towed to an electrical place and they said I needed to replace the cruise control module but it would be ok to just disconnect it till I got a new one. I'm still CCM-less. Last night it happened again. Its sitting at my friends house in the next subdivision over, but I after going to the Daytona 500 yesterday, I'm seriously broke and need to know if its anything I can fix or if there is any way to manually shift this car into gear. It starts up just fine, but I can't take it out of park.

Yo... I know I just talked to you, but here is a pic of what you should remove to get to the release lever. If your brake switch was shorting, then the car doesn't think you're pressing the brake and won't release the shift lever.

My moms old 94 ATX did the same thing, but she took it into ford and it was just a little $5 part...have it installed for $75!!! I am not sure what the actual part is..sorry, but I do know its in the shifter itself

OK, replaced the switch under the brake pedal which is probably what you're talking about, SHO SPD. Didn't do anything. Got to looking around under the hood and saw that someone had plugged the old cruise control module wiring harness back in. Now, I DID NOT do this! Something leads me to believe that the husband did it cause he went and told my dad that it was broken and he didn't have the money to pay to have it towed or anything. I think he was just wanting money, but whatever, the SHO is running fine now and he's long gone!

Hey SHOGIRL94,
If you experience this problem again - I know people!
Seriously though, if it happens again just turn the ignition to the first click before 'run' then shift into neutral, start the car shift into drive and you're away.
