I looked at a SHO for sale today an 95 mtx and it starts right up but rpm's fluctuate from about 500-1500 while it's idling and after a few minutes it will eventually stall from dipping too low. It will start back up and do the same thing.

The check engine light is on so I'm going to scan it but I'd like to know the possibilities.

Also while it's running if you just put the pedal to the floor it will just cut out and catch itself when you let go. You can only get high rpm's by slowly pushing the pedal.

If anyone knows what the possibilities are please let me know because I'm going to probably buy the car tomorrow. I was thinking IAC but if that was no good I'm not sure if it would even idle at all.

Thanks, Ryan

I have MAF cleaner but my friend's got a MAF for me and just to get it home I'm putting mine on from my 93atx do I have to unhook the ground on the battery to let it reset when I change it or anything? I changed mine on my focus and it ran bad until I let it reset by unhookin the ground for a lil.

Thanks for all the help guys I'm confident it's the MAF now got a good deal on the car I hope I enjoy it :)

I would disconnect the battery and do the idle reset procedure you can find with a forum search.

My '95 MTX has the same bogging problem. In all honesty, it is a nightmare to figure out.
I had tried a brand new MAF and it was no help at all.
