Hey guys,

I've had an issue since day 1 with my used 2013 SHO not allowing me to turn off the backup warning sensor. I live on a busy road and sometimes when I'm backing out of my my drive, I have to wait a while before it clears. Therefore, the warning system chimes and chimes at every car coming from either direction. It's extremely annoying. The problem is that it gives you the option to turn it off while you are backing up, but it won't let me turn it off. I highlight "off" and hit ok and nothing happens. Am I missing something here?

Right now, my only fix is to throw it in neutral until traffic is clear....that or do a 3-point turn-around in my driveway and head out.

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

I believe what you are turning off in the display while backing up are the proximity sensors in the rear bumper. The part that's "yelling" at you when a car rolls past is the cross traffic detection system. Two separate functions.

Go into your left had settings menu, find the cross traffic feature and turn if off there.

PSC, I have this problem as well on my 2013 PP SHO, I would turn off the back up sensor and the cross traffic sensor, however when I stop and start the vehicle again those two sensors seem to reset and go back to active status. I too, have resorted to throwing the shifter in neutral. Parallel parking is really irritating, Ill get some lookers from the crowd as I pull into a parallel parking spot playing music, then the beeping begins- effectively lowering the music and my manhood.
