1997 Taurus SHO/ I have already had to fix a multitude of isses since I was given this car as a gift for my grandson to be his fist car. Have engine running like a top and all systems working...except it won't accept gas being pumped into the tank, kicks it back out like when you try to get the last few bits of your $10 worth and it won't fit, but the tank is empty. I blew out all the vent lines and they seem to be clear. Is this, or could this be related to the charcoal filter?

The filler tube can be removed from the car and examined. If the cap was off for a time, you can get things like wasps moving in.
It is not a charcoal canister issue.

Scoped out with camera already clear all the way through. I'm stumped.

EVAP system checks out? Canister purge valve and solenoid check out OK? Fuel Tank Pressure tested (should be near 0, if not check the fuel vent hose)?

As a "new" (new to me, anyway) V8 SHO owner, I had to acquaint myself with the odd way the Gen3 SHO takes gas in. Normally, I would stick the gas pump in, let the hose end drop down, squeeze the handle all the way, notch the spring lock at the end of the hose handle and walk away. Can't do that with these. You need to make sure you are pushing the hose in (to make the seal around the filler) and "nurse" the gas filler so that the handle is NOT touching the filler tube whilst squeezing the handle full pressure. It is the ONLY way I found I could fill up my car. The "almost full" click stop happens, and after two more, you better stop squeezing or get a leg full of gas. The routine has been researched on the v8sho.com website by others who came before me. Hope that helps. Not sure if you are a "new" owner or not by your post. If I am in error, please accept my apologies in advance.

Interesting. My '98 fills just like a normal car rather than as you describe. It does stop early and you can often get another couple of gallons in after the initial kick off. I seldom bother as it risks backing into the evap canister, but on long highway road trips I would do it, just to decrease the number of gas stops a bit.

Don't mean to insult anybody's intelligence, but when you say "tank is empty" are you strictly going by the gauge on instrument cluster? I once ran an old Buick century out of gas where the gauge said it was 25% full. Perhaps not all issues were resolved by cleaning GEM.
