I can't get the either wiper arm off. I follow the instructions from the Chilton's manual which are the same as the SHO manual. It's been a long time (several years) but I removed them once before. I can slide the tab out but the arm won't budge at all off the post. I assume I remove them with the hood open.

Does the arm have to remain at its highest position when the tab is slid out to remove the arm? Or will it come off with the arm in its regular relaxed position as long as the tab is out?

There was another post "wiper arm removal" but it provided no solutions accept assuming the arm was stuck on the mount from rust/oxidation.

Is that the only attempt at removing these things - soak in Liquid Rench, PB Blaster, Rost-Off - or can I try something else?

Should I try to give it a nudge by prying it off with a screwdriver or pry bar?

Thanks.

I usually get my wipers to stop in the middle of the windshield then I raise the hood, slide the locking tab out and sometimes you will need a screw driver to get them to slide off.

Just took mine off last night;

I turned them on to lay on the windshield then put pressure downward where the attach to the armature and the pull (bend) the arm away from the windshield. Hope that makes sense.

Lift the wiper off the glass, pull out the tab then let the wiper arm rest down as your holding the tab out this will keep it out. Now wiggle it off. This is the best way.

They can be a PITA. Keep the arm about straight. Use a small screwdriver on the latch as shown to release the arm, and then lift it from the splined shaft.
