Replacing a driver-side rear lateral arm. The 15mm bolt that secures the inner end is turning but not backing out. I can feel the end of the bolt (opposite the hex end) turning and the welded nut is still solid with the frame. Threads stripped? I tried prying on the end of the bolt while turning the wrench but no luck. I don't see another method to push, pull, or cut this bolt out.

Any magic tricks you guys have I should try?

Not exactly sure from the pic what bolt you are having trouble with. Is it #1 in this picture? Don't see why that bolt would be stripped. If the bolt turns and the nut doesn't it should come out. I don't remember having any problems when I changed both of mine. I know that doesn't give you any help.

Yes, it's the #1 bolt. Every video or instruction I've found shows the bolt backing right out. Might try to put a torch on the nut end and see if the bolt expands enough to grab again. Long shot but really don't want to take it to the geniuses at the dealer...

Solved. kinda...

The tabs that held the rectangular nut either corroded or bent enough to allow it to turn with the bolt. Same thing on the passenger side. Had to use a 90degree prybar to wedge in next to the nut while backing out the bolt.

Now, nIMG 7232eed to figure out how to secure the new one...
