Joke thread ftw. Not as good as the one where someone pretended to be a ricer that tried to extrude hone his engine by running sand through it while it was running.

If you want to see some REAL geniouses at work go take a look at some of the posts on an SRT-4 forum. One guy actually changed his oil by taking the filter off and running the car till it stopped pouring out of the filter hole since he couldn't get his oil pan drain bolt off and that one was real.

Joke? Nosir. I was thinking with a hot triclor degrease and a cold acetone wash after that the epoxy would hold just fine.

It'd be good to see just exactly what the efficacy of such a "repair" would be, comparing it after say 50,000 miles to a welded repair.

Surely, the weld is a far superior time-tested approach but why not consider the holding power of Mighty Putty as an alternative?

A buddy of mine says they've been using it on nuclear aircraft carriers for years with great success.

They have been using toilet paper on nuclear aircraft carriers for a number of years with great success too. Not anywhere near the reactor or its equipment, though.

This is not a safe way to secure the cam sprocket.

Pretty much sums up what I was thinkin too..

Weld or go home... I wouldn't trust Billy May's with a SHO... maybe the laundry, but not a cam.
