I could either get a good launch or hit 3rd... but not both... I think i should figure out whats up with my shifter...

With a dyno pull of 200 horsepower to the wheels, a good launch and good shifts should have you easily hitting high 14s. My 89 with 194.1 FWHP ran 14.8 at 131 without finding the perfect combination of launch and shift (but getting pretty close). Either that or the dyno is reading high, cause 200 whp is HEALTHY

You have four main benchmarks to hit on the road to 14's:

2.2x 60 ft.
9.xx 1/8 mile time
70.xx 1/8 mile trap
92.xx 1/4 mile trap

Hit those marks or higher and you'll either be close to 14s or into them.

Noisy?

The only noises it makes is the return spring creaks occasionally, and there is some slop in it. Feels like the ball and socket.

I have a good idea as to the cause of the problem just not exactly the effect.

When doing my clutch I let the linkages hang, I figure this to be the cause.

Either that or the dyno is reading high, cause 200 whp is HEALTHY

The Butt Dyno is not accurate, but I have Pulled on every SHO that has gotten next to me. So I believe the 200 pull.

76 and 98 mph traps? Stop spinning and granny shifting and yeah, I'd expect a good 14 with traps like those
