I have an 89' sho since 90'. Its in good shape. I was in a parking lot yesterday and a young girl backing out ran in to my gen 1 and busted the passenger tail light lens. She traveled 15 feet not responding to my horn and never hit her brakes. I'm thinking I don't have to replace the entire light, but don't really know much about the tail light. I'm assuming I can just replace the lens if I can find it. Any suggestion on how the tail light is structured and finding a lens if I can replace just that will be appreciated.

I haven't taken one out in a long time but it is generally one piece. If you pull the trunk carpet back (there are some push and some screw type fasteners) and remove the fasteners for the light housing you can see what it looks like. Contact Dan Barbush SV&HOdan on this forum. He usually has a parts car or two available to him to sell parts. He is responsive and his prices are always good.

There are also used parts websites that have a search engine for salvage yards all around the country. (those that belong to theat network) and there are serveral networks and websites. It will locate cars and you can sort results for distance, part grade, price etc. Very useful for old car parts.

Near the top right of the page there is an inbox tab--between your screen name and the alerts tab. Put the cursor over it and a drop down will have a 'start a conversation' click on that. then enter SV&HOdan in the i forget the setup but who you're sending it to. It sends a private message to the forum inbox that comes with everyones account. It also sends a notice of the message to the individual's personal email that you enter when you sign up. I'll send you a test.

Thanks for your help Iuigisho. The reason I could not find the inbox is that I'm somewhat color blind to certain colors in some light. That red on black is hard for me to see. But when you pointed me to it and I moused around, it was there. Thanks again. ct

Thanks for all the help everyone. I did buy a tail light from Dan. I appreciate the pointers to other possible part sources. I know I'm going to need all the help I can get as time goes on. ct
