I just broke the passanger real subframe mount. My technician claims he can weld a new mount. All I could find is a sub for an automatic, I have a 5 speed. Would the mounting point be different?

Yes, the engine/ transaxle mount points are different between the MTX and ATX.

However, an ATX subframe can be converted with some welding (I'm not sure if ATX SHO and ATX SLO use the same subframe). If you're feeling really really ambitious, you could convert to a gen3 subframe. However, your best bet is to find an mtx subframe to swap in.

There was a thread related to this on the forum that I found not long ago, I couldn't find the original thread but I did save the pics. This is not my vehicle, but I am currently in the same boat.

Pretty ugly, and mine currently looks as bad, if not worse.

The rot has been cutaway.

A new 'box' end has been welded in.

Pretty clean work.

Repainted and the bushings have been re-installed.

I saved these pics because I am going to take them to a superb welder in my area that I have found and see if he will take on this job.
