Okays guys and girls time for some fresh thinking. There is a fiberglass specialist here in Italy in the Pompeii area that custom makes body kits for the cars out here. I am going to be taking my silver 93' to him in May to have something made up for it. Here is what I am thinking.

Instead of replacing whole bumpers with new pieces and racking up costs and making shipping harder, why don't we make add on bumper valances and splitters to the exsisting bumpers. VW, Nissan, Honda, Toyota and other have been doing this for years. These would help the aero look of our cars without going overboard. Companies would probably agree to make these over the larger whole bumper covers.

All these would be is tape on or bolt on fiberglass or eurathane bumper extensions and new side skirts. These could be had for a decent price.

Can somebody draw or photoshop up some ideas that I could run by this guy or just produce examples from the internet. Here are some examples of what i'm talking about.

i agree with the fact that the extentions tend to look better than full-on body kits on most cars. however, with the lines of the SHO body cladding, i'm not sure what you'd add where.
what kinds of ideas did you have in mind? (its your car :p )

i have been thinking the same thing... for the front, like a mach1 lip...
as for the sides i dont know? and the rear, maybe on the sides, they could mold another "roll" to the bottom. you know, like the sho has on its rear bumper, but another one below it....
but the sides might be difficult to pull off....

and another thing, you would have to worry about clearance, when jacking the car up, and for the lower shos out there....
not trying to rain on your parade, just want you to take in to consideration everything else... i would love to have a lip kit on the sho....

Venom Sho S7, please post what you thought up. Like to get some ideas and pics to throw at this guy so we can get some better idea of cost and clearence issues. I'm dropping the car soon with Tokicos and Ground Control coilovers. I want this car to have the dropped look and style. Luckily this is one of my toy cars so I don't have to worry about everyday abuse like I used to. I wanted Airbag suspension but I would lose the tightness of performance suspension. I got rid of the luxury feeling suspension for a reason.

The coupe' registered mid to high 13's on 215-40-17 yokohama parada spec-2's with some tire spin. These where run on my new G-tech meter on a nice smooth road at night. Might get some better times out of it when I install my new front mount Intercooler and all new silicone hoses and aluminum piping. Will be dynoing the car in april after the new FMIC.

i don't think he's organizing a group buy. besides, he's in italy. shipping across country is horrible enough at times, imagine shipping from europe. plus the prices. more than likely going to be a lot more than you'd pay to have something done in the US.

could have fooled me. :shrug:Either way, I'd like to get some here, shipping isnt as much as you might think.. I shipped a bicycle in 3 seperate boxes, for $120, to Australia... Also did a few to China, and Japan... I'd stil be interested in them!

Okay guys here's the thing. I am going to have this done out here since no companies will undertake the project in the states. I will try to have the pieces reproduced when I get back states side in 2 years. Or I can try to have this guy make a couple more and try to ship them to whoever wants them. Shipping wouldn't be that bad considering I use USPS mail just like you do. Only thing I would worry about would be breakage during shipping like everything else breakable, fiberglass is def not indestructable.

Right now i'm just looking for ideas to throw at him.

i completely forgot this was for a Gen2 NOT a gen1... so i just sketched out some REALLy QUICK SKTCHES, nothing great, but it kinda gets the idea across. If you want me to draw it out with some actual detail i can, but these are just for a rough idea.

again, very rough sketches. If you want something more agressive looking or better detailed, like i said, just let me know. The blue lines are where i think you could cut off the lip and still end in a place where it's least noticeable, this way itll give it more of a oem look.

holy crap dude, if that's 'just a sketch' for you... man. man man man. I *wish* I could draw 1/1,000,000,000th that good... but yeah, dude, that looks awe-friggin-some. especially on the back. can't really visualize the front enough, though...

front doesn't look too bad, but not quite digging the back. the front wouldn't work (in my mind at least) without side skirt extentions and rear as well. the only extentions i've ever liked are on VWs and S2000s.

Please send more detailed pics. You've def got the right idea. The front looks really nice almost exactly like I was thinking. Side skirts could just have addon pieces or maybe even dupes of the gen1 side skirts. Always liked those. They are agressive but don't really carry over well to the front or rear bumpers. For the rear bumper a nice pair of side only addons would be perfect because here are so many different exhaust variations. Enclosing the tips would be difficult to make work unless larger holes were made. If you can please email me with some of your ideas and sketches. [email protected]

i think that thing would get ripped off the front of my car with the sh*tty roads around here, and my low car... But i think it would still look sweet!

That actually look pretty cool. Good job :thumb:

I have a set of carbon fibre universal 2 piece front splitter that matched the Gen II's bumper shape and length perfectly. I haven't decided if I want to try to put it on yet.

I can take some pics if you want.

Would look great in the front, on the back would be great to have something to cover up the whole underside maybe lovered, with some exit holes for the exhaust tips.

The fronts would not survive with Intrax springs as I can bearily clear driveways now. :frown:

I'll try to take some pics of them by the bumper so you can have an idea how big they're and how well they match the bumper. I'll do this on Tuesday.
