I was thinking of buying a '92 SHO. The car itself is in good shape, the trans is in good shape too.

The car has 177k miles and never had a 60k service, and the oil looks pretty bad. I doubt the car was properly maintained.

The valvetrain makes a lot of noise, and it uses a quart of oil about every half a tank of gas. It also has NO power. My 3.8L taurus would **** it in a race in its current shape.

The car is beutiful, just needs an engine. Any suggestions on a budget way to rebuild this??? Not going for performance, just a good rebuild. Do they make Total Seal rings for this application??

Thanks guys!

Not really. As a matter of fact, you use all the 3.0 accessories. Either way a used engine is gonna be cheaper than a rebuild, IMO. Of course, it will still be a used engine.

That's what I was thinking, I just located a '94 MTX 3.0L engine complete from intake to oil pan for $550, it supposedly has 37k miles.

Don't really need the whole thing, but oh well I guess I'll have some extra parts.

Won't be a problem swapping a 95 engine for a 92 will it?

Thanks again guys,

Jeramie

Swap away!!! If you really price shop, you could rebuild your current engine for about $1200 :D
