Broken subframe repaired but still got clunk....

Did the repair (weld) on subframe all nice and tight (ugly welds but solid) as i am backing up to get out of garage....CLUNK. I have a new shaft on the passenger side (half and intermediate) replace the stabilizer links less than a year ago and they show no sign of wear either. everything seems tight but no idea where clunk would be. Oh btw struts and springs in front are old but still good. Alignment shop "checked" other than the struts i have no clue.


On question on weld fix tire on and on ground or off and up? Does it matter?
Cup was fine just a lil rust.

Were you turning the wheel at all? Did you check things like your sway bar endlinks?

Is there anyway to check the strut mounts? cash still tight but i am looking to replace all 4 struts and springs soon. Checker has complete unit mounst spring strut etc etc as a full kit just pull out and replace. Sensa trac i believe but 170 each is a little tough at the moment. I have a new set of moog endlinks but the plastic ones i have still seem fine. no tears in the "boot" and solid (hard to move back and forth). So i don't want to waste the money putting them in for nothing. With the tire off the ground no noise. So maybe i solved 1 clunk and new strus/springs will solve the rest.

Could old bushings be a cause also? prolly original ---another thing to do eventually.
