Broken Front Right Spring

i noticed this poping noise today in the front right side of the car and my steering would pull to the right so i took off the tire and my front spring is missing a chunk about 6 inches on the second rig from the top my question whats the cheapest way to fix this can i get a nornal taurus spring from a junkyard if so how do i take it off do i need special tools ?????????

The slo taurus springs are different rates from the sho springs, so that's not a good idea.

You can replace just the spring yourself if you have a spring compressor, but consider that the struts and strut mounts are likely to need changed also, so you might do a more complete job while you are in there.

In addition to the non-SHO springs having different spring-rates, you should replace the springs in pairs, whether the replacements are used or new. Given where you live, the potential for the other spring to break is relatively high.

heh, screw it, I broke a spring on my 93 atx, I got a used ATX spring, (atx springs are different from mtx springs), replaced it with another used one and haven't had any issues. If my other one is going to break, w/e let it break, I'll change it when it breaks. I didn't replace anything while I was in there either, I don't have the money, but if you have the money to burn by all means replace some stuff, and do the springs in pairs.
