i have a 1995 sho atx that i was doing an alternator repair on when the lower cable connection broke off... i have just recently replaced it with the above connection but still need a vice grip to completely tighten... i started the car without really crimping it down yet but ended up with this result on a alt/batt tester after replacing alternator:
1st min: battery fully charged with alternator charging @ 14volts (what the tester considers normal)

after 1st min: the alternator charge dropped to 13.5volts (considered low by tester)

is this something to be concered about or could this be due to me not crimping the part in place?
thanks in advance

You could just loosen your battery cables while you're at it. :nut:

Loose electrical connections are a bad thing. Either crimp or solder the thing properly, or pay a professional to do it.

Oh, and hope that you haven't managed to fry your battery or alternator by knowingly trying to run the car with a loose B+ connection.
