Since the day i bought my car there has been a breakout box in the back hard wired to the computer. Im kinda wondering if i can use this to my advantage for anything lately. Ive been told its like an older computer, before they had tuner chips and stuff. can i use it to shut off check engine lights and shift points and stuff on my car? heres a pic...

It's a breakout box, it allows you to probe the 104 circuits going to/from the PCM. It breaks the circuits out for convenience.

IOW, let's say you want to monitor your MAF volts. Rather than back-probe or pierce the insulation at the MAF connector, you just connect your meter leads to the appropriate pins on the breakout box and voila.

It's really only useful for serious electrical troubleshooting. Someone like Paul or I would be able to put something like that to use, your average owner it's not terribly useful.

Ahhh, no. It's not a computer nor a flash tool. It's just a bunch of ports to probe wires.

For performance modifications, you want one of these which coincidently we sell:

Sorry SHOZ123, I still haven't uploaded that new tune you sent nearly a month ago. I can not believe how busy this semester has gotten... SOON though!
