couple months ago I made a post about my brakes locking up cause the pedal to be hard and the car slowing down to a stop well after replacing with brand new calipers , rotors , pads rubber hoses and another pump she does it again just the other night I had replaced the calipers on my 93 MTX drove over 375 miles from PA to NC yesterday constant traffic which consisted of frequent stopping about half the trip brakes were fine up until today I noticed the brake pedal was pretty stiff and I started feeling the car dragging I pulled over and sure enough the front wheels were smoking again with brand new calipers, hoses and a replacement pump I still can't win only thing I can think at this point is the brake booster or master cylinder what's y'all thoughts ????

I think you might be right. Also did you get new caliper brackets with the new brake calipers? If they are bent they can make braking funky

I think punctuation is your friend. You should try using it...

Can recall early Gen 2's having master cylinder issues, but can't recall the symptoms. Otherwise would guess a collapsed rubber flex hose but your post indicates you replaced them (all of them? especially the rear ones))

I had a '92 mtx until 2002 when I had to trade her in ... but toward the end, there was a serious issue with the ABS system which, I understood, also had the proportioning valve. Several shops indicated the valve was at fault with brakes locking up [usually the rears, but ...]. As I recall the ABS system was rather pricey and I decided to live with it and brake more carefully and anticipate more. I managed a year or so that way until I traded her.

BTW ... I do have a Ford shop manual for it if anyone is interested.

wtf we doing grading essays now?
No, but it does help when someone writes in a way that clearly communicates what they want to say. Particularly when they are asking for help. Otherwise you would need to send everyone a decoder ring to help them decipher what you are saying.

I would have called the Master Cylinder from the beginning. Change it out. Instead of rebuilt, we bought a new manufacture (Chinese made naturally) unit that is working fine. The only thing is those don't come with a new brake booster seal, however the old one was fine to reuse.

I didn't have a problem because I stopped reading your annoying run on sentence and again if your asking for help you should make it easy and not be a dick to a moderator now we'll see if you're wasting your time to read this and maybe find your solution I only came back to see replies and it seems that the master is your issue or it could be old rubber lines or the bias but i can tell you I changed to Earls SS lines and put bias plugs in 10 years ago but wondering how old is all your fluid because if you already said that I didn't read it.

wasn't being a dick at all but since you're in your feelings to where you had to make a smart comment about this whole controversy I'll reply to your lil comment with one of my own , It's not that serious bro and for the record changing the master cylinder I believed done the trick
