My 2013 SHO PP has 70K on it, i got it not to long ago. It is time to change out the rotors and pads on all 4 corners. I have no idea when this was last done to the vehicle, but i honestly want to add more stopping power. I am looking for recommendations, so far EBC seems to look like the winner, but looking for details. Which EBC did you go with? i do like when the "top hat" as i am going to call it(bulge around wheel hub) to be painted/treated in some way to prevent visible rust. No trying to spend 2k on a brake job, but not looking for cheap garbage thats just as bad as motorcraft either...

Thanks in advance,
Richard

For what it's worth. And I have the same car, '13 PP.

Rock auto, went with oem PP brake pads, and centric rotors. Now the rotors are not painted so something to concider, however the price was right. Put around 20K miles on this so far and I have no complaint at all.

I can't comment on the quality of better brake pads but I'm open to suggestions, my 13 PP stops great with the OEM. As for replacing the rotors, the question is "are they worn to the point where they need replacement"? All the training I've had points to resurfacing rather than replacing if applicable. Reason being that the metal in the OEM rotors has been heat/stress relieved and is less likely to warp. When properly refinished the OEM's are just fine. It's also good to check for any run out and possibly index the rotors or install adjustment plates. Always make sure you clean the mating surfaces on the hubs and rotors.

All ford and Lincoln dealerships *should* be using on car lathes. There should be no need for shims. If your hub is off by a little the path will cut the rotor strait to the warped hub. In reality a resurface would be better than a new rotor for this reason.

Agreed Johnbigdog, comment was a dyi thing (not that a dyi guy would take the time to check run out and correct it). Ahrmadillo, had to tell with a pic, but you may have hard spotted the rotors, so they may require replacement?

when i bought the car they warped 3 months later and then i replaced the rotors and not the pads they were good until i had to avoid hitting another car that pulled out in front of me (i was doing 80mph to 0 rapidly thought it was the end of the SHO) and they warped instantly so i replaced everything

Got them put on yesterday. What a difference over stock. All 4 rotors were destroyed from previous owner...

I decided on the EBC Sport series rotor and EBC greenstuff 2000 series pad, anything else I will need to switch out on my 2016 non pp SHO with 30000 miles? "Hopes I made the right choice in product" they were the highest rated on autoanything for the SHO.

EBC has been a proven performer for this platform, although the GREEN STUFF pads are on the lower end of their product offering(s), but still is better than OEM.

I personally ran their YELLOW STUFF pads prior to going full bore on the WILWOOD Big Brake upgrade at all four corners.

I think since then, they've come out with an ORANGE STUFF pad that is supposedly even better than their Yellow's.

Be sure to report back your experiences.
