i got one more question about my brakes... when i changed the rear pads and rotors i noticed that on the bracket that holds the pads there was a little metal shim/thin plate. i noticed it was on the left side and not on the other when i changed the pads. is this peices important and where can i get it if i need it...

Don't worry about it, you don't need it. If it's the metal plate that goes behind the new pad on the SHO, then I wouldn't worry about it. Some new pads come with it, some don't. It won't affect braking.
