Ok here's whats happening, I just replaced the spoiler brake light with a light from a '93 SHO that's sittin in a Mississippi junkyard. It worked fine for about a week after being in there, however now whenever I turn off the car, the brake lights stay on. And when I turn the car back on, the brake lights still stay on, even though my foot isn't on the brake pedal. The also stay on if the car is in gear with no foot on the brake.

I've found that if I un-plug the batery the go out (duh) but, when I plug the battery back in, they remain off untill the car is started, and then the whole process starts over again. My mom thinks it's a short, but she is by no means mechanically inclined.

So, to the SHO gods, what the heck is causing this problem? And what can I do to fix it?

Well, any electrical connection is technically a "short". So you can tell your 'ma she is (sort of) right. Your problem sounds more like a switch or relay is sticking closed,,or shorting out. Do the lights blink with the turn signal when the are stuck on? Do all the brake lights stay on, or just the trunk strip?

It was the lil switch on the brake pedal that had gotten stuck. The pressure plate on it had bent, (kinda like Sdpatt's horn getting stuck on) When I looked down in there, I almost knew that was it. Went to Advanced Auto and got a new switch for like 4$ and the brake lights are perfect now! Thanks

You must have my car's horn switch confused with someone else's. However, my wife says that my horn switch is always in the ON position. :D
