brake light?

on my way home from work today I romped on it a little bit in 1st gear and everything was fine but my brake light came on , flickerd then went off? what is the deal with that? first time its ever done that.

If you're saying the Red brake light and not the Yellow ABS light, check your brake fluid. If you romp on it and the fluid is low enough, it can splash below the sensor when the car lurches forward. I know from experience on a Sable LOL. A top off is all that is required to fix this problem if that's what it is.

Otherwise, make sure there is no play in your e-brake pedal. A loose pedal could bounce and open the "brake on" switch.

If you need to add brake fluid, you also need to inspect ALL of your brakes. Low fluid means that either pads are worn down (very common) or you have a leak.
