Hi Guys,

I just had all of my pads and rotors replaced on my '13 SHO, non-PP. If you look at the picture below, I circled the brake clips, that are jutting out beyond the pads. They're not rubbing against my wheels, so I'm not really worried, but I'm concerned when I downsize to a 19" winter wheel/tire package (which I intend on doing).

First off, is the clip position normal for our cars, and, if so, do you think I'll run into any issues when shopping for a 19" wheel/tire package? Should I be looking for a particular offset to avoid any issues? Thanks!

Just to add, I'm looking at 19" wheels with a 35mm and 45mm offset. Would the 35mm be the better choice in order to ensure I don't run into issues with hitting the brakes? I believe the stock 20"s are 39mm offset.

I also have a '13 non PP.
I upgraded front brakes and bought PP pads just because they have more surface area, they came with those same clips. I grabbed them with some big pliers and twisted them right off. No issues

Great, thanks! If pulling them off is/was no issue, do you know why they're even there in the first place? I also noticed that you're running the Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 tires. I'm considering those as replacements to the Michelins. How do you like them?

I'm pretty sure they are for the PP calipers.
I loved the tires when I got them... But after 8,000 there are basically shot!
I would highly recommend not getting them.
The price was amazing!!! But it kinda makes sense why.
I will definitely go Continental extreme contact DWS next time around.

Ok, cool. I just want ensure that I'm not going to ruin anything by twisting those clips off. :)

Ouch, only 8k miles? The Contis are nice, but almost double the price, but I guess that could be worth it. I wonder how the Kumho Ecsta 4X IIs hold up? They seem fairly well received.

Yeah the Kumhos got very good reviews, at the time I bought the Sumitomos were brand new to the market so I rolled the dice with them...
