Nice. I guess I can still say I have never owned a turbocharged car with a maf sensor. The last 5 all had map sensors. Do you know if each turbo has a surge valve?

Each turbo has a bypass valve PCM controlled.

I have actually been researching this topic for a lil while now and have came up with a custom setup I am going with. I wasnt going to say anything til it was complete and able to do a write up on it but sense this subject came up let me try to clarify the factory setup.
There are two recirculation valves, but, are both on the rear turbo's "hot" pipe. And it is a MAP setup which was previously stated, which means RTA BOV's dont hurt the car at all. Below is a schematic of the factory system from the turbo's to the throttle body. The recirc valves are highlighted in yellow.

Hopefully this clears some things up and helps. :munch:

What are your plans? Replace a hot pipe with a metal one and have a ****** welded in? What bov will you be going with? I do like bov's but they drive me nuts after a short time unless it's quiet. With the Chrysler turbo cars I had, the oem surge valve was very sensitive. You could buy a bov plate that would vent to the atmosphere, but it would blow off very loud even in vacuum. Most people who put one on pulled it back off soon after.

I actually am planning to replace all the pipes, hot & cold, to get rid of the "soft pipes" and remove the factory intercooler and put a custom front mount intercooler in. The BOV im going with is the HKS SSQV Black Edition, it has different inserts to change the pitch and sound i guess. I havent used it yet but will find the quietest insert when I do. While im in there doing that, I am also going to be doing the t-stat and radiator replacements. I cant wait til it all comes together!! :dribble:

The name of the company is Extreme Turbo Systems (ETS). I have to give them one more revision of my drawing and they can make it for me. As of right now they say it takes 1 week from when they get the final drawing til it ships but will take longer if i wait til deeper into the race season. The only part left I have of my project is the piping which is going to be the fun part.

Sense were on the subject, Im leaning towards getting it in black so it would kinda blend in... What are your opinions? The regular silver or black?

Gardemoen:

Memories, memories.

When I lived in Sweden 1974-1976, I got pretty involved with guys that owned American muscle cars and attended a lot of events, shows etc.
I remember being in Gardemoen maybe twice but I don't remember the drag track at the airport but they have a long history of bike racing in that city.

Sweden was a real hotbed of collectors or American cars of all types including muscle cars. Kind of funny, I brought with me to Sweden two vehicles courtesy of Volvo when I took my assignment there.
A 1965 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham (SP?) the six window sedan with all the bells and whistles of the time and a 1974 144 with auto/ac/stereo of the day.

Sold the Volvo when I left for quite a bit over the Swedish variant and made a killing on the Cadillac. Said Cadillac was sold to the then President of the Swedish Cadillac Owners Club and he sent me a Christmas Card every year for years afterwards with my old car on the card.

Just to dot the i's, Gardemoen is in Norway, not Sweden but they had just as active a collector country for old US iron as was Sweden.

edit: here is a photo from the club's 2008 meeting with my old Caddie.
