I replaced the BOO switch a few months back and the same issue with wife's Explorer (no shift out of park and no brake lights) so I removed my switch and installed it in her car (its the same switch) and it worked. So I went to the local parts store and purchased a new one. Installed new one in wifes car...good to go. Problem now is that reinstalling switch in my car, it doesnt work unless the pedal is pushed all the way to the floor or I manually push the switch straight up with my hand....WT*!!!!!!! I have installed it every which conceivable way. The switch and plastic washers/guides all seem to fit fine, but the switch is acting petulant. Anyone have any experience with these switches? Do they lose something once they are removed? Could installing it in my wifes car have blown it too (even though it still works if drepressed all the way)? S T U PI D.
