first big mistake. my passenger door molding came loose, tried to use epoxy, big-big mistake! what will disolve without paint dammage? then what will make panel stick? in a way thia is not to bad.
i am now the only driver and my awa is off line, that is a very good thing!

When In replaced my metal moldings with rubber ones I used urethane to bond them into place. It worked well.

Epoxy is strong stuff. I'm not sure you're going to find anything to disolve it without removing the surrounding paint.

You may want to try some clear silicon on it next time. A small bead seals well, and it stays clear, flexible and is somewhat easy to remove if needed.

Epoxy can only be removed mechanically. I use silicone as much as possible, its easy to remove.
