Alright, it's been awhile since this happened, but i've decided to finally work on it this weekend. A couple of days after installing new multi-function and headlight switches i blew fuses 6 and 13 (dashlights and power windows). I replaced the fuses and the immediately blew again, so i know there must be a short somewhere. Has anyone had this problem before or know what could be causing this? What wires should i start checking? Thanks for any help!

When exactly are the fuses blowing? Only when you turn on the aux lights... shortly after? You say that the fuses blow right away when you change them. Do you turn off the aux lights first then change the fuses? Do you have your aux lights fused by themselves on their own independent circuit? Does that one blow?

Just wondering what's really going on :thumbs_u:

T,
Check your connections for the parts you just replaced. Then check for any wire or connector that is being grounded by making contact with metal.

Check in the rubber boot the wires run through from the body to the drivers door. These wires are flexed frequently and will sometimes break and make contact with a neighboring wire, or the body.

You can isolate the component in the circuit by making a list of what components the fuse services, and remove the components or disconnect them one at a time, until you find the offending component. rangerj

Alright, I checked around a bit this weekend (for about 20 mins) and only found that the driver's power window switch was seperated. I screwed the switch back together and put a new fuse in, and the power windows worked..... but only until i turned the headlights on! So it must be something with the headlight switch. Hopefully i'll have time to pull the dash this week and find the problem (after i buy some more fuses :headbang: ). Thanks for the help!

Hey Guys, just to let you know, i replaced my starter solenoid (the one on the left fender) and they don't blow anymore. Pretty odd! I think all of the electrical graemlins were hiding in the old starter solenoid!
