Guys, sorry if this has been discussed a million and two times, but I did a search, and was unable to find what I needed.

The blend door is what controls the temperature right?

Mine is stuck on 90 degrees and when I try to reduce the temp, there is a popping noise like the door is stuck. My question is how do you go about getting to the darn thing, and how do you remedy the problem?

Thanks

Your blend door is fine, however, your Blend Door Acuator (BDA) has a broken/stripped gear on it. Run an EATC self-test and you'll probably pull a "02" code.

The dash has to be pulled back about a foot and the BDA module can be replaced. It mounts on top of the HVAC plenum, almost dead center at the base of the windshield.

The part is Ford specific, however, it is not exclusive in any way to the SHO.
