Yes FWD puts these cars at a disadvantage but not completely handicapped. With a Quaife and propper suspension setup and chassis stiffening they can be pretty fun with lots of power. I still want to see a boosted SHO run the 1/4mile with some SHOnut gears, a racing clutch, solid engine mounts, ALSFB's, some rear suspension limiters or coilover suspension, stage 5 axels, and some str8 drag slicks make a run. Shoot they do it with GTP's and Regal GS's. I think that would be an easy 11 sec car if dedicated to it. It is kinda hard to make a multipupose FWD car with tons of power. Mine will be setup for road course racing and top speed runs.

still the front suspension design isn't very friendly for high horsepower. Looking to change that.

Also I'm looking forward to seeing some numbers/vids/installed pics.

How does a Pasta rocket(AKA Ferarri or Lamborghini) have to do with a Crotch Rocket(AKA Yamaha R1)? I am not crazy. I have no dillusions that I could beat a 1000+cc super or sport bike. I know you are joking but I would never race for pinks and risk losing my already bad/huge $ investment. I will already never be able to sell the car for what I paid for all of its upgrades, but then again I will never sell it. I will friendly race agianst almost anything when the car is finished though. If the turbo setup and built motor and everything are fast enough, then a ecu controlled Nitrous kit will be in the cards for more freeway go power. Come on Chris out with the new #'s from the Dyno! BTW that kit that you saw will be improved upon before any kits are sold. We are working at getting all mandrel bends and bolton parts. The exhaust downpipe will probably be secured by a V-band setup and the pipes should be in a 3 part setup and easy to clamp together for installation and removal. Feel free to post comments and some ideas if you have them.

That's true...but for the cost I'd assemble my own kit to my specs, I'm not sayin g the kit is crap, everything but the welds are awesome, kudos on doing it in the first place, especially LPM tuning....sorry to express a minority opinion lol

You'll take that risk just by driving it anywhere let alone racing anyone either on the street or the track. It's a sad downside to SHO ownership.

thats a sad downside to owning any car....unfortunately. Now that I have almost completed my stereo, I am afraid the car is going to get stolen/broken into...

Someone made an offer on the turbo SHO that i couldn't refuse so i sold it. Another thing that helped me decide to sell it was that i didn't have any before dyno numbers. So now i'm building a 12 psi intercooled turbo SHO
I'll have before and after dyno numbers with my new black gen 1 turbo SHO. This kit will be exactly what i will be selling. The car is a black gen 1 that has the suspension all done up, 96 brake upgrade, and i'll be adding a T04 E trim, 38mm tial external wastegate, greddy BOV, 80mm MAF, 48lb injectors, 255lph fuel pump ect.
Don't worry SHOblime this kit will have welds you'll approve of, and there will also be V-band clamps. The new owner is going to dyno my old turbo SHO soon.

Alright! Chris chimed in! Time for another Turbo SHO. Dyno this one would ya? I think I am gonna get a 62-1 Tubonetics dual BB turbo for Insane spool-up and quick cool down. Vecco.net has it for $1080. Def get a remote oil filer setup with a good oil cooler to help dissipate more heat off the oil system. Maybe you should also apply to be a distrubuter through Turbonetics. They have some of the best parts and decent pricing which could be cheaper as a distributer.

Master Power turbos

I talked to a Guy at Roto-Diesel Turbo which is a turbo warranty and repair facility in Miami, FL. The guy there said the following about them and changed my perspective on them.

They have been making turbos for over 40 years.
They are based in Brazil and imported to the states.
They are one of the main 3 turbo companies along with Garrett and Turbonetics that uses the floating bearing design with the 360 thrust style bearing.
They bolt the center bearing in for strength and the other 2 pin them in.
They have different turbo styles avail. Ball bearing turbos will be avail. soon and Chrome compressor housings are now avial.
The price range is price very good compared to the Garretts and Turbonetics units. The 62-1 T61 #810007 T04E turbo is $550 MSRP and $490 distributor pricing. That is an awesome price.
They come with a 1 year no questions asked warranty. Replacements are issued.
There are less warranty returns on these than the Garret or Turbonetics units.

Chris is working on becoming a distributor for these guys. This will make the kits more customizable for you guys.

You can check them out for yourself Here

BTW plenty of people use them but they don't come in pre-built turbo kits like other companies. They are mostly alla-carte turbos. People use them for replacements and for custom kits which is why i thought of them. The price savings will help make the kits cheaper.

What ever you want. the 2 main turbo manufacturer options are Garrett or Master Power. You can choose to use the Turbo netics turbos which cost more. Basically the piping will be 2 different types, 2.5" mandrel and crush bent. The components will be in 2 different stages, 300-450 Crank Hp and 400-600 crank hp. Stage 1 (stock 3.0L-3.2L engines) will be 38-42# Accel injectors, 38mm Tial wastegate, 38mm Tial or Greddy BOV and a T04E turbo decided by the buyer.
The stage 2(LC 3.0L-3.3L engines) kit will be 48# Accel injectors, 40-42mm Tial or Turbonetics wastegate, 40-42mm Tial, Greddy or Turbonetics BOV, and a 62-1 or large T04E decided by the buyer. The kits will be available with 2 different tuning options Tweecer or LPM. Ceramic coating on the piping and turbie housing will be available as an option. For extra protection SS polished turbine headshields and tan or black exhaust wrap are other options. I would lke to see if Chris could get 3" down pipes made for the stage 2 kits with the matching 3" V-band to turbine clamp.

Anymore questions just post em up.

Doesn't Chris have 3 kinds on his website? I would be looking at a stage 1, but on the higher boost side. A 3.3 (LC) is a possibility in the future for me, so is it limited to 3.0-3.2s only?

Absolutely not. I was giving examples of what the stage listed would be the best for. The kits will be upgradeable in the future for extra boost and more power. Mostly a turbo swap or a boost controller away. The wastegate size is the main deciding factor for HP levels along with the turbo being used. A 38mm wastegate is good for up to 450-480 crank hp. You can always get the stage 2 kit and run the boost lower for a stock motor and just turn the boost up when the engine tranny and clutch are ready for the extra juice. I will talk to Chris about making the website reflect exact options and components. I am working with him to make these kits the right choice for the SHO enthusiasts. I simply think that 2 different stage kits will keep things on the simple for potential buyers.
