So in early February I purchased a y pipe from Davico Manufacturing For my 93 Atx and i waited until the weather got better up here to install it and get an entire new system. Well the exhaust shop called and said it didn't fit. I called Davico and told them it was wrong. They asked it i wanted the right one but I told them that i had my car on a lift and needed one asap. I explained the situation and asked them that i would like to be reimbursed for the shipping both to my house and for me to send it back, seeing they were the ones who made the mistake. Well they screwed me big time! all they gave me back was the price of the y pipe ($396)and half of the shipping to send it back. Get this, i talked to the owner about the situation and he couldn't have cared less! I paid $104.00 to have it shipped back and all i got was half. So to let you know stay away from this company and Ray Surprenant(owner). He does not care about his customers nor can he admit to screwing up and pay the customer for his employees mistake.

Sorry, but you were very lucky to get any consideration at all. :shakehead

You bought a part five months ago and are just now realizing they shipped the wrong one? I bet 90% of the companies out there selling ANY part would have told you sorry and done absolutely nothing for you given the passage of time. Most companies give you a few days, and in some cases up to 30 days to report a mis-shipment.

Be very glad you were able to recoup what you did, and learn from the experience so in the future you won't let so much time pass before verifying that you got what you ordered and that it works properly. Be glad you're only out $52 and not the entire cost of the y-pipe.

Personally, I would view this as a recommendation for that company since they went out of their way to correct an error that they had no knowledge of for five months! :thumb:

+1, what is their side of the story. As asked earlier, is it poor quality or the wrong part altogether?

Just because it was the wrong part doesn't mean they'll take care of you 100%. The longer it goes unsaid (either with the normal 30 day return policy or any time there after), the less believable the story sounds.. if you know what I mean. I work for a small business and we get people like that a lot.. where they try to return something way outside the 30 days. We can take care of some, but we can't take care of others. It really depends on the time/situation/customer's attitude/etc. I know we've had a lot of great customers, and a lot of people who say we have terrible service. I'm sure Davico is fine. You really should have checked the part out when you got it to make sure it was the right one.

IMO, from a business standpoint you're lucky you got the y-pipe returned to begin with.

+1 on Mr A's assessment. Sounds like a typical case of buyer not knowing what he wants, buyer not checking his package and expecting the company to bend over backwards (which to me, they did) after too long of a wait on notification there was a problem. Personally, I would have refunded you the money you paid for the part, no shipping, after that much of a wait.
